photomatopoeia

pho•to•mat•o•poe•ia | ˌfotoˌmatəˈpēə |

noun
the image of a subject associated with what is photographed

Words certainly evoke the imagination, yet it is photography that evokes emotion. With the idea of experiencing photography, I want to change the conversation from the technical to the emotional side of what makes a good picture. Ultimately, we photograph to record the human condition, and without emotion, it’s just another picture in the sea of a trillion photos.

  1. Coffee. Some would argue they need it, the truth is you don’t. It is a luxury and luxury usually doesn’t come cheap. So, if you buy coffee, go for the good stuff and especially from coffee buyers who do good by taking care of their growers and suppliers. Fair Trade is a good start, but there are companies that are doing even better. Here are two of my favorites, Grounds for Change and Pura Vida Coffee. Oh, and buy local, support your small local shops in your community.
