Peaceful Slumber: As parents of babies, we relish in this time of peace. Do you remember the time, after a long morning of children’s activity, nap time came around and all was well with the world… peace at last, just for a moment.
Moments - I was snuggling with my girl, watching a movie one night, and I happen to notice the simple beauty children have in their natural state.
A Mother’s Kiss - This is my wife’s self-portrait with our daughter last night. One of the things that seem to have been important to our children was to have time for a snuggle before bed. They go to sleep faster and are so much more at peace at bedtime after a snuggle. (Lisa Gsellman/photomatopoeia)
In Her Arms - The safest, the warmest and simply the best place on earth… is in the arms of a loving mother.
Dates - I have found a new appreciation for dating your own spouse. There is so much we miss in the day-to-day, and it requires us to slow down together to know that we are still in love.
Anniversary - Well, it was our 12th anniversary yesterday and we spent it just hanging out together, roaming Seattle. I reflect on the fond memories of the innocent past, the joys and challenges that have brought us to the present, and the hopes and dreams of tomorrow.
Cloudy Heart - Today, in the Pacific NW, was a beautiful day of clear blue skies, sunshine and warmth. But today was not one of those days for me, until I got to be with my “green eyes” and we ate and talked as the sun set. Tomorrow will be even brighter now.
